In Loving Memory of Mr. John Carlin

Member of Port Fairy Bowls Club

With a heavy heart, we share the passing of Mr. John Carlin, a cherished member of the Port Fairy Bowls Club (PFBC). His death has come as a shock to all who knew him, leaving behind a deep sense of sorrow within the club and the wider community.

For the past two years, John, alongside his close friend Mr. Damon Riches, has been a valued bowler for our Division 1 pennant teams. His dedication, skill, and sportsmanship made him an integral part of our club’s success. More than his contributions on the green, John was admired for his friendly nature, his warm smile, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. He was a true gentleman of the sport, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and respect that defines the game of bowls.

John’s presence enriched the lives of those around him. He was not only a teammate but also a friend, someone who brought joy and encouragement to others. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, and his absence will be felt deeply by all members of PFBC. To Damon, we extend our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mate, knowing how close your bond was both on and off the green.

The club sends its deepest condolences to John’s family and friends. We share in your grief and hope you find comfort in knowing how much he was loved and respected by his fellow bowlers. His memory will live on in the games played in his honor, in the laughter shared among teammates, and in the legacy of kindness and friendship he leaves behind.

May Mr. John Carlin rest in eternal peace. His contribution to the Port Fairy Bowls Club and his impact on all who knew him will never be forgotten.

RIP Mr. John Carlin (1983–2025)
