With a heavy heart, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Ms. Alyssa Kayla Marquez, a 22-year-old Black female, who died at a shoreline in Los Angeles County. Her death was formally pronounced on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The coroner’s office has confirmed the manner of death as suicide, with the cause listed as hanging. This tragic loss has left her family, friends, and community in profound grief.

Alyssa was a young woman whose spirited presence touched the lives of many. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her laughter, compassion, and ability to connect with others made her deeply cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. At just 22 years old, Alyssa’s life was full of promise, and her passing is a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of supporting one another through struggles that are often unseen.
